Akash Chandawarkar MD

Dr. Akash Chandawarkar is a Harvard-educated physician, Johns Hopkins–trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon, and fellowship-trained aesthetic surgeon. He is the founder of Mirror Plastic Surgery in St. Petersburg, Florida, a boutique concierge practice offering head-to-toe plastic surgery, injectables, and comprehensive wellness care including peptides and sexual health. He also serves as the Medical Director of Elevate Medical Spa.

Dr. Chandawarkar studied neuroscience and nuclear engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) before earning his M.D. degree cum laude with Honors in a Special Field from Harvard Medical School in 2014 as part of the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences & Technology (HST) program. He completed a seven-year residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins/University of Maryland, followed by the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital (MEETH) fellowship in New York City, endorsed by The Aesthetic Society.

Recognized by Newsweek America’s Best Plastic Surgeons for multiple consecutive years, Dr. Chandawarkar has built a reputation at the intersection of innovation, technology, and patient care. He is an active researcher and industry collaborator, publishing widely on injectable safety, artificial intelligence in aesthetics, and emerging treatment technologies. His entrepreneurial background includes a Stanford Biodesign Innovation Fellowship and Life Science Angels investing fellowship in Silicon Valley, where he trained in medical device innovation and investing in novel technologies.

Originally from the northeast, Dr. Chandawarkar now resides in St. Petersburg with his wife Carly and their daughters Aria and Anika.
